Instructions

    • 1

Pour a small amount of apple cider vinegar or wine into a bowl. Add a drop or two of dishsoap. Cover the dish with a piece of aluminum foil. Poke several holes in the foil. Flies will be attracted to the vinegar and fly into the bowl. The dishsoap will help the fly sink when it touches the water and the foil will keep the gnats in the bowl.

    • 2

Spray a short burst of hairspray onto a swarm of gnats. The hairspray will harden on the wings and the gnats will fall to the ground.

    • 3

Prevent infestation by keeping your kitchen clean and your sink free of dirty dishes and standing water.

    • 4

Cover trash receptacles and make sure that your plants are not overwatered. Also make sure there are no holes in your screens (although some gnats are small enough to enter through the screen itself).
