Instructions

    • 1

Wet your hair if it's not already wet from shampooing it.

    • 2

Comb hair out, making sure all tangles are removed.

    • 3

Let hair dry, but leave it slightly damp. (Hair takes a much better set when it's not completely dry.)

    • 4

Divide hair into sections if you're setting your hair with rollers, then lift a very small portion of hair from your scalp with the tail end of your comb and run the comb through the hair to remove any tangles. Wind your hair around the roller, starting from the end of your hair and stopping when the roller reaches your scalp.

    • 5

Using the clips or bobby pins, secure the roller in place.

    • 6

Set the rest of your in hair rollers following steps 1 through 5.

    • 7

Set your hair with bobby pins or hair clips if you'd like to create tighter curls or ringlets. Pull a few strands of hair up and away from your head with the tail end of your comb and comb that portion of your hair to remove any snarls.

    • 8

Rest the tip of your index finger against your head, and using your other hand, wind your hair around your finger until that portion of hair is completely wound around your finger.

    • 9

Hold wound portion of hair in place and secure using a hair clip or bobby pins.

    • 10

Set the rest of your hair with bobby pins or hair clips in the same manner, using steps 7 through 9 as a guide.

    • 11

Leave rollers, hair clips and bobby pins in hair for as long as possible (overnight is best). The longer the set, the tighter your curls will be.

    • 12

Remove hair rollers, hair clips and bobby pins after several hours and either run fingers through hair or brush hair to create the look you want.

Tips & Warnings

  • You will have more curls and tighter curls if you wind less hair around each hair roller and if you use less hair for each curl you wind around your finger. Note: You may need more hair rollers, hair clips and bobby pins if you choose to create a hairstyle with more curls. Dry hair using a hair dryer after setting your hair if you're pressed for time and need to brush your hair out right away.
