Instructions

    • 1

Gather your materials. Silk is the only material that you might want to avoid, as it easily slips from hair.

    • 2

Cut the fabric to desired size. On one end, crease 1/2 inch on the inside side out, so that you can use the crease as a guide for sewing.

    • 3

Fold the fabric in half, matching the sides and unfolding the crease. Leaving 1/2 inch seam of space, stitch the uncreased 6-inch edge and the 22-inch-long edge.

    • 4

Hand-stitch beads 2 cm apart along the fabric right side up and stitch through the loops on either end. Make sure the beads don't fully cover the surface of the fabric toward the seams to leave room for machine stitching.

    • 5

Place the elastic string onto the already stitched 6-inch edge, stitching securely over the elastic to ensure a tight hold on the fabric. Hold the fabric in place and turn it right-side out.

    • 6

Stitch the loose elastic to the secured elastic end, and straighten the fabric to make sure the seam is even all around.

    • 7

Secure the ends to each other and top stitch to secure.
