How to Make Dog Food Chex Mix

"Dog Food" Chex Mix makes a good finger food for parties. Though it may not sound very appetizing, it is actually quite yummy and easy to make! Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 9 cups Chex cereal 6 oz. Chocolate chips 1/4 cup Butter 1/2 cup Peanut butter 1 tsp Vanilla extract 1-1/2 cups Powdered sugar Large bowl Zip-Loc storage bags

Instructions

      Pour chocolate chips, butter, and peanut butter into bowl. Microwave, uncovered, for 1 minute.

      Mix together with a spoon. Return bowl to microwave for 30-45 more seconds, or until the batter is smooth.

      Add vanilla extract to mixture.

      Fill a large bowl with the Chex cereal. Pour microwaved mixture over cereal and stir until it is completely covered.

      Place the mixture into a large Zip-loc storage bag, along with the powdered sugar. Shake/Mix until cereal is coated.

Tips & Warnings

  • Store "dog food" in Zip-loc bags or in the fridge.

  • Regardless of the name, this recipe is not really for dogs! Chocolate can harm dogs, so please do not attempt to feed them this food.
