How to Clean Paint Overspray Off Windows

  1. Step 1

Add some hand dish washing detergent to some warm water. Using a rag, gently wipe the oversprayed area of the glass. Glass cleaner may be substituted for the soapy water. If the paint is fresh, this step may be all that is necessary.

  2. Step 2

Holding the scraper at a 30-to-50-degree angle, begin sliding the scraper's razor edge across the glass surface, using only the amount of force necessary to remove the paint. Adjust your angle of scrape as needed to remove the paint. Increasing the angle and pressure will help loosen more stubborn areas. Take caution not to apply too much pressure, as you could score the surface or break the blade of the scraper, causing damage to the surface or injury to yourself.

  3. Step 3

Re-apply warm soapy water as needed and use the scraper until all paint residue is loose.

  4. Step 4

After separating the oversprayed paint from the window with the scraper, use glass cleaner to remove the loose specks of paint and restore a crystal-clear shine.
