  1. How to Make a Castle With Craft Sticks

    • 1

Start with the walls. Glue craft sticks together side by side until you have a width of about 2 feet. Go back and glue a craft stick to the tip of each of the first set of craft sticks to make the wall taller. Place a tiny drop of glue on the tip of each new craft stick and set it on the edge of its partner craft stick. Do this one more time, which will make your wall three craft sticks high. Repeat this procedure five more times. This gives you a total of four walls, one floor and a roof. Set these pieces aside, and allow them to dry thoroughly before assembling them.

    • 2

Make four towers to place on the corners of your castle. You'll build each tower log cabin style, gluing four craft sticks together in a square shape and overlapping the ends. Continue to build the structure this way until you achieve the tower height you want. You need to repeat this procedure three times.

    • 3

Glue craft sticks along the four sides of the floor, with the flat side touching the edges of the floor. These sticks will act as a brace when you erect the castle walls.

    • 4

Paint the floor. Use gray and black for a stone castle or brown and black for wood. Brush the paints on alternately, using the base color to cover the craft sticks and black to give them a stone or wood finish. Paint the walls the same way. Paint any windows or castle ornaments you want before painting the craft sticks fully. Paint the roof and towers, and let everything dry.

    • 5

Assemble the castle. Glue craft sticks along the walls on inside of the castle to reinforce the structure, then bring the walls up and glue them to the bracing along the edge of the floor. Let this dry for an hour or two, then glue the roof to the top of the structure. Glue the four towers to the roof, one in each of the corners.

Add a nice finishing touch to your castle with a drawbridge. Glue four or five craft sticks together side by side, paint them with brown and black to achieve a wooden look, then glue the craft sticks to the bottom front of your castle at an angle. Now you've got a castle made entirely of craft sticks, complete with drawbridge, you can display with pride.
