How to Enable a Popup Blocker on Windows XP

Windows XP can be customized by the user to enable or disable the option to use the operating system's pop-up blocker. If you have downloaded other tools onto the computer, such as a Google or Yahoo toolbar, those programs may have their own pop-up blocker feature that needs to be set.

      Click on "Control Panel" in the start-up menu.

      Choose "Internet Options" in the screen that opens.

      Click on the "Security" tab in the Internet Options menu.

      Scroll down on the Security tab menu and click on "Custom Level".

      Scroll through the security settings in the menu that opens, and look for "Use Pop-up Blocker". Check Enable.

      Click "OK" to close the menu.
