Things You'll Need:
- Concrete tile mold Concrete mix Water 5-gallon bucket Mold release spray Concrete trowel Concrete pigment (optional)
-
Step 1
Prepare your mold by treating it with the mold release spray. Then, in the bucket, mix the concrete with water, following the directions on the bag. You want the mix to be stiff but pourable with the help of your trowel. If you would like tinted concrete for your tiles, you may add the concrete pigment when you are mixing.
-
Step 2
Set your mold on a flat surface. There will be concrete spills, so you may want to use a drop cloth under the mold to catch them. Pour the concrete into the mold, then smooth the top with your trowel. Let the tile set up for 48 hours.
-
Step 3
To release the tile from the mold, turn it upside down and gently tap it until the tile pops out. Set the tile aside and allow it to cure for another two days before laying.
