Things You'll Need:
- Oil pan Standard tool kit Old rags Replacement oil
-
Step 1
Take the motorcycle for a short ride to warm up the engine oil. Feel the side of the motor to see if it is warm before stopping. Once the motor side covers are quite warm to the touch, you are ready to continue.
-
Step 2
Pull the motorcycle up on blocks or on an oil changing stand.
-
Step 3
Slide the oil pan under the motorcycle and remove the oil drain plug. This is located under the motor.
-
Step 4
Wait for all the oil to completely drain out. This may take some time, so occupy yourself with another activity until the process has finished.
-
Step 5
Once all the oil is drained, wipe the oil drain plug off with an old rag, and replace it. Make sure that it is snug and secure.
-
Step 6
Open the oil cap (usually on the right side of your motor) and pour in the suggested amount and consistency of oil suggested in your Honda motorcycle's owner's manual.
-
Step 7
Replace the oil cap. Turn it until it is tightly sealed.
