How to Make a Countdown Clock

Creating an online countdown clock can be done in several different ways; which method depends on its use. If a countdown clock is created to represent a new website, you can create a free HTML or flash countdown through several free websites. If a countdown is to help people remember a specific event, HTML of flash websites can also help in these instances.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to http://happycountdown.com or any count down generating websites and create a free account.

    • 2

Select what type of countdown is desired after signing in. At the top of the website a drop down menu will show numerous types of events. After choosing the event type, select what the name of the event will be called, which will also be the name of the website. "WWW.HAPPYCOUNTDOWN.COM/" will be shown and after that will be a blank box where you place the event's name.

    • 3

Type the full name in the event in the next empty box that asks, "What do you want the headline of your countdown to read?"

    • 4

Type in the large notepad under the headline and describe what the event will be about. Include locations, related websites and any other important information that may pertain to the event.

    • 5

Click on the calendar icon below the notepad and choose the date of the event. In the same box is the option to choose a specific time of the event.

    • 6

Select what song will be played on the countdown clock website and also upload up to three pictures for the event.

    • 7

Select if a reminder should be sent out as the countdown clock gets close to completion. It will say, "As you get closer to the end of your countdown, how often would you like us to send you a reminder?" Choose either one week before the end, one day before the end, "all of these" or "No Thank you."

    • 8

Choose if the countdown clock should be private or available for search engines to find. Select "Submit" and the countdown clock will be generated. A website will show a large red button and clicking on it will display the generated countdown clock.
