Wear sunshades or glasses at all times. Protect your eyes from pollen, dust, and other debris that blows around during the springtime. -

If you are out and about, use hand sanitizer. Dust and pollen get on exposed areas, with hands being no exception. -
Step 3
Hang clothes inside.Avoid the clothesline. All of the outdoor debris, pollen, dust and dirt is transferring to your clean clothes.
For the first few short weeks of spring, refrain from the hanging out the wash and dry clothes in the dryer, or hang them inside. -
Step 4
Change clothes if you are outside for a long period of time.Change into clean clothes. To reduce seasonal allergy symptoms, change into clean clothes. If you stay outside for long periods of time, your clothes transfer the allergy agents from the yard to the house.
It's even a good idea to bathe before changing into new clothing, to rid yourself of all contamination. -
Step 5
Honey , A Natural Remedy For AllergiesUse natural remedies. If allergies begin to flare up, try natural remedies.
Honey and apple cider vinegar are great for calming allergies. Try a couple of teaspoons of either in warm tea. -
Step 6
If precautions don't work for your seasonal allergy symptoms, refrain from taking strolls outside.Avoid numerous trips outside. If there are absolutely no precautions you can take for your seasonal allergy symptoms, only go outside when you have to.
Determine to stay away from the culprit, if at all possible. Make your trips outside planned and to the point.

on 5/27/2009 Very nice extra tips to avoid allergens. I have found that washing my eyes at the first sign of irritation with a clean washcloth and cool water really helps. It probably removes some of the allergens and irritants that are there. The hands as you mention are also a good one to wash as the first thing you want to do is rub your eyes which of course can spread even more to your eyes.
