It's not difficult to properly brew green tea if you know what you are doing. Most people just don't realize that different types of teas are supposed to be brewed differently to bring out their flavor properly. Below is the guide to brewing green tea. This is also the correct way to brew herbal teas, as well as light flower blends (like Lavender and Rose teas).

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Fill a teapot with water and begin to steep the water.

  2. Step 2

When the water reaches its first boil (this is when the water becomes slightly active and tiny bubbles began to rise to the top). You can also judge this by temperature, it should be at about 160F.

  3. Step 3

Add the green tea leaves or packet, and let it steep for about 3 minutes. If you like it more bitter, or weaker, you can adjust accordingly. Use 2 teaspoons of loose tea, or one packet, per every 8 ounces of water.

  4. Step 4

Drain the tea (if necessary) and then serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always avoid using tap water which can drastically alter the taste of tea.
