How to Reboot a Laptop Computer

How to reboot or restart your laptop computer. These instructions should work for a PC or Mac laptop

• Laptop computer

1. Get your laptop!

2. If your computer is not frozen, try Methods 1 & 2 to restart/reboot your laptop computer.

3. Method 1- Go to start menu (PC) or apple icon (mac) and select the restart option.

4. Follow any instructions in any menus that pop up.
   For example, your computer may instruct you to close certain programs or may ask you if you would like to save any work in progress.

5. Method 2- Press power button (PC or Mac) and, when menu pops up, select the restart option.

   For example, your computer may instruct you to close certain programs or may ask you if you would like to save any work in progress.

7. If your computer is frozen, try method 3. Be aware that method 3 can cause trouble with your computer and using it may result in you losing any work in progress.

8. Method 3 - Press and hold the power button until computer powers down (PC or Mac), when it powers down, hit power button again to restart (PC or Mac)

• Remember to save any work in progress before restarting or rebooting your computer!
