Step 1
It’s all in where you sit: Sit as far away from the buffet as you can. This will make it a chore to get up and get more food. Sit with your back to the buffet. If you can not see, the buffet you may not feel the need to go back up for more. Remember out of sight, out of mind.
-
Step 2
Get pinned in: Sit yourself in a booth and have someone sit on the aisle. If its hard to get out, you are less likely to get out. The less times you go up to the buffet, the less you will eat. Make it a chore to get out and walk over to the buffet.
-
Step 3
Take a look before you start to eat: Before you get your first plate of food cruise the buffet. Take a look at everything. Take a real close look. Some things may not look as good as you thought upon further review. Have a game plan on what you will get and stick to it.
-
Step 4
Do not feel the need to eat it all: Just because you got three pieces of fried chicken doesn’t mean you have to eat all three. You have paid for the buffet. You do not have to eat every bite on your plate. The people bussing the tables will not care whether you eat all your mashed potatoes or not.
-
Step 5
Give it a good chew: Chew your food quite well. Give it a real long chew and savior the taste. You will feel up faster and will be less apt to go for more.
-
Step 6
Drink plenty of water: Fill your stomach with a little water. This will take the place of food and you will feel full faster. Drink water throughout the meal.

on 4/3/2009 Great tips! Step #4 makes me laugh - I try to not overload my plate, that way the waitress won't think I am wasting food when I nevitably don't eat it all!
