With your computer on, click on Start, then Settings, and from the pop-out menu, click on Control Panel.

  2. Step 2

Click on Sounds and Audio Devices.

  3. Step 3

On the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties dialog box, click on the Sounds tab. In the “Program events” window, scroll down and then click once on “Start Windows.”

  4. Step 4

With “Start Windows” highlighted, click on the arrow of the Sounds window. Scroll to the top of the list of sound options and then click on None. Click OK and then close Control Panel.

You can reboot your computer to see that the Start Windows sound is no longer playing.
