Four ways of buying a car for the best deal.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Never tell the salesman what you would like to pay as a monthly payment. If you do the salesman will make sure that he gives you the monthly payment but the interest rates to get it at the ball park figure will be incredibly high. Stick to the final price of the car and let the payments reflect that. Asking for a monthly payment is a game the salesman play and always win if you give him the monthly payment. Do not play his game.

  2. Step 2

Never let a sales con you into buying a car quickly by claiming that a many people are looking at the same car. That is the oldest game in the salesman book. They try to rush you into buying a car and can then demand a higher price because of competitor buyers. Take your time because this is a big decision that you may have to live with the high monthly payments in tough economic times. There are a lot of cars out there.

  3. Step 3

At all costs and for best costs, avoid any and all confrontations with the car salesman. There are too many cars out there and too many salesman to get in a head lock with a salesman over one car. In tough economic times,he will probably be purring up to you any way. If the salesman is bullying you, simply do not negotiate no matter what. These people do nothing but negotiate all day so you know that the house will always win. Just leave the dealership or car lot and find a more reasonable car salesman. You do not have to be polite about leaving a place that is bullying you to buy a car but try to be the bigger person.

  4. Step 4

Always be ready to walk away if not pleased with the salesman or the sales transaction. In most cases the salesperson you've been working with will turn over the final negotiations to a "closer." If you've decided what you can afford to pay and it's a fair offer, you can simple say,I'm prepared to write a check for this amount. They youy have to be willing to walk away. "They deserve to make a profit, but you deserve togetthe best deal you can.
