Donate Hair to Charity for Kids with Cancer or Alopecia

This article will tell you how to donate your hair to one of the organizations that make wigs for kids who have lost their hair due to a medical condition known as alopecia or due to cancer. I donated my hair in 2008 and it felt wonderful! You can donate your hair too!

Instructions

    • 1

Grow your hair until it is long enough to cut off at least 10 inches of hair. If your hair is curly you can pull the hair straight to measure it. You can dye your hair while it is growing but do not bleach it.

When your hair is long enough to cut wash and dry it until it is completely dry. Then tie it in a pony tail at the back of your head. Cut the hair above the elastic and leave it in the form of a pony tail.

    • 3

Put the pony tail into a plastic bag and seal it. Then send it in any size envelope to one of the chairties that collects hair. One of the more popular charities is Locks of Love. There is also Wigs For Kids, Beautiful Lengths, Angel Hair Foundation, and Angel Hair For Kids.
