Step 1
There are a few different types of capture the flag in Halo 3. There is one flag, where both teams will take turns playing offense defense, and multi flag, where both teams have flags. Start out by getting together a team of friends who you play Halo 3 well with.

Step 2
When playing defense for your team, grab whatever power weapons you can get your hands on. These weapons will help keep attacking enemies away from your flag. Try moving objects on top of your flag or parking vehicles on top of it. This will keep your enemies off of your flag for a short period of time. Never go too far away from the flag. Make sure that you can see all exits to the flag room from wherever you are defending. This is key to winning capture the flag in Halo 3.

Step 3
When playing offense, use vehicles to pick up flag carriers to make a quick escape back to your base. Vehicles are the fastest way to capture a flag in Halo 3. Have a couple of players follow the flag carrier back to the base so that they can kill any enemies that are chasing the flag carrier. Having a good sniper cover the flag carrier is a great way to keep the enemy team off his back.

Step 4
Make sure that you have a strong offense and defense to win at capture the flag in Halo 3. Remember that this gametype is not about killing enemies so focus on the goal of capturing the flag.
