Step 1
Frag grenades do a small amount of damage but can turn the tides of battle in any situation. If you hit an enemy with a frag grenade directly, it will take down their shield. This makes for a great weapon to use with combinations.

Try using frag grenades with different combinations of other weapons. Throw a frag grenade at your enemies foot and then as soon as it explodes, take them out with a pistol or battle rifle. Try throwing a power drain at a group of enemies and then immediately after, throw a frag grenade on top of it. This will cause a large explosion, killing all enemies in it's radius.

Step 3
Frag grenades are also effective on vehicles. One frag grenade will not destroy a vehicle at full health, but it can flip any oncoming ground vehicle. Try throwing a frag grenade at a full warthog. When the warthog flips and the enemies fall out of it, throw another frag grenade and it will blow up the warthog. Mastering the frag grenade will help you become a much better player in Halo 3.
