Things You'll Need:
- Reversible Drill
- Drill bit
- Screw Extractor Bit
-
Step 1
Drill a hole in the center of the head of the stripped screw to match the size of the extractor bit. Note: the hole should only be in the head of the screw and not all the way through to the end of the tip of the screw.
-
Step 2
Place the drill in reverse mode and secure the extractor bit in the drill.
-
Step 3
Place the extractor bit into the drilled hole on the screw head and while applying pressure to the drill, slowly start the drill in reverse. The extractor bit will grab the head of the screw and back the screw out.
-
Step 4
Grab a new replacement screw and your back in business.

on 9/30/2009 GREAT and most helpful suggestions--those stripped screws are the worst, but no problem anymore. (Plus another excuse to use a power tool!) 5*
