Step 1
The first thing to do is to find the bee stinger. The bee sting will redden, so look in the center of the reddened area for the stinger. It should be small and dark and look somewhat like a splinter.
-
Step 2
Remove the stinger with a flat edge, like a piece of paper or credit card. Remove the stinger as quickly as possible. Chances are, grabbing a pair of tweezers will take too long. The venom in the stinger can continue to pump into your system for about 25 minutes, so the quicker you get it out the better.

Step 3
If you have an allergy, you obviously need to get to the doctor right away. If you do have an allergy, you really should have a bee sting emergency kit.
-
Step 4
If you are not allergic, now is time to soothe the area. Wash the area with water and a gentle soap, or alcohol wipes.
-
Step 5
Apply an ice pack to the area for 15 minutes.
