Toys for your children don’t need to be expensive and it can actually be free. You can create paper dolls for your daughter and teach her some creativity and her skills to draw will be enhanced. When I was young I don’t have too many toys. I only remember having 1 Barbie doll my entire life. But that doesn’t stop me from having fun. I created my own dolls by creating paper dolls. I draw faces and make paper clothes for them it was fun!!

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Draw an unclothed female and male paper doll. You can copy from a magazine or books. If you don’t really have talent for drawing you can either trace it or cut the figures from magazine and paste it in a cardboard. This will be a fun activity for you and your daughter.

  2. Step 2

Create clothes for the paper dolls; you can put different colors and designs. Create pajamas, gowns, uniforms and street clothes. You can get inspirations from magazines, books and you can even create clothes similar to yours or to your daughter.

  3. Step 3

You can also create paper accessories, paper furniture to play with your doll and you can even create a dollhouse to make it more exciting.

  4. Step 4

Give your paper doll a name. We used names of celebrities’ way back on my childhood and we create our own stories for our paper dolls based on what is happening to the life of the celebrities.

  5. Step 5

All my friends have their own paper dolls and we used to compare our dolls, dress them up and have paper doll’s party. We even give them jobs, take photos and draw their pictures, each dolls have their own stories to share and as days go on we even create a family for them.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use your imagination and let your artistic nature comes out. Have fun with your paper dolls.
