This article is going to be very short, sweet, and to the point so that you can get on your way to finding the lowest gas prices in your area. There are two excellent resources on the web that you can use to find the lowest gas prices. By using these resources you can save money, by getting the lowest gas price, and save time by not driving all around town to locate the best deal on today's gas. For your convenience, direct links to both websites have been provided in the resources section toward the bottom of this article.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First, for the up to date information on the lowest gas prices in your area or on your trip route, you can reference MSN Autos. Once on the MSN Autos site, you will want to put in your local zip code or the zip code of the town you would like to search. After entering your zip code, you will be provided with a list of local gas stations and the current gas prices from least expensive to most expensive. It is not rare to see that the lowest gas prices are up to 25 cents per gallon lower than the highest gas prices. If you fill up a 20 gallon tank, that will result in a savings of five dollars each time! Five dollars a week will save you over $250 throughout the year.

  2. Step 2

Another resource you can use to find the lowest gas prices is called Gas Buddy. Gas Buddy shares the lowest gas price information reported by local area residents. Again, similar to MSN Autos, you will need to enter in the zip code of the area you would like to search. Gas Buddy will provide the names of the gas stations, the current gas prices, and the times the prices were last reported.

  3. Step 3

It would be of your best interest to save each of these websites as website "Favorites", so that you can quickly reference them. You should also check both websites each time to ensure that you always find the lowest gas prices in your area. If you are interested in helping others, consider signing up with Gas Buddy to become a gas price reporter. Again, please see the resources section below for direct links to the websites!
