Whether you are trying to lose weight or just want to eat a healthier diet a good start would be incorporating whey protein into your diet. Whey protein can help reduce your appetite and boost your metabolism. Whey protein powder is readily available in many grocery stores and health food stores.

Whey protein comes in different flavors such as vanilla and chocolate making it perfect for a daily whey protein smoothie to have for breakfast or lunch. Here is a recipe for a quick and easy smoothie that you can mix up in just minutes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries or other berries of your choice (use one kind or combine)
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 1 scoop whey protein powder
  • Blender or smoothie maker
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  1. Step 1

Place frozen berries in a blender or smoothie maker. Add ice if desired

  2. Step 2

Add the whey protein powder and skim milk.

  3. Step 3

Mix on high until smooth. This will be thick like a shake and best enjoyed with a straw.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have fresh instead of frozen berries add a few ice cubes to thicken. Recipe will make 1 whey protein smoothie.
  • Be careful about using too much frozen fruit or ice as it can burn the motor on your blender. I like the Chris Freytag Personal Fitness Blender. It works great and has a frozen line on the blender cup so that you you can be sure not to add too much ice or frozen fruit.
