How to Use an Electric Smoker Grill

Converting your electric smoker into a grill is easy, and you still have the benefits of using wood soaked in a variety of liquids to flavor your food the way you like it. For best results, you should consult your owner's manual for the specific operation and safety warnings for your brand and model, and always check the temperature of meat to ensure it is safe to eat.

Convert your smoker into a grill by taking off the dome lid and the smoker body.

Put wood chips soaked in water or some other liquid in the base pan and fill the base pan two-thirds with hot water or other liquid. Place the cooking grill on the top of the base.

Arrange your food in a single layer, leaving space between each piece. Put the dome lid over the base pan. Plug in your grill. Turn on your smoker and choose the appropriate heat level for the item you are cooking (if you smoker has this option).

Cook meat until a meat thermometer indicates the food is done.

Tips & Warnings
Unplug the smoker before adding more wood chips or liquids. Use oven mitts whenever you need to remove the dome lid to prevent burns. Be careful when removing the lid from your electric smoker grill. Meat drippings can cause the flame to flare. Always consult your owner's manual for safety instructions.
