How to Use a George Foreman Rotisserie

Rotisserie chicken is famous for its fullness of flavor and juicy meat. Many supermarkets and warehouse clubs sell rotisserie chicken for a premium price, but if you buy a George Forman Rotisserie, you can duplicate the same tasty results at home with little effort and cooking skill.

    • Whole chicken Various herbs and seasonings Oven mitts Large platter

        Remove all components from the box. The box should contain a vegetable basket, flat basket, roasting spit, basket remover, skewers for kabobs, instruction manual and removable drip tray.

        Thoroughly wash and dry all of these components before using them.

        Remove all chicken parts hidden inside the whole chicken. Rinse chicken inside and out with cool water. Pat it dry with a dry paper towel.

        Season the chicken inside and out with your preferred seasoning. You can use salt, pepper, old bay seasoning, Cajun spice blends or any of your own creations.

        Place the chicken onto the provided spit. The spit rod will go down through the middle of the chicken. The instruction book will show you pictures of how this is done.

        Place the cap to the spit onto the other end onto the spit. Tighten the wing nuts so the spit is held together during cooking. Secure the spit with the chicken into the rotisserie with the end that has the cogs on the cog end of the George Foreman rotisserie. Pictures are provided in the instruction book if you get lost.

        Insert the drip tray so the drippings can be caught throughout cooking.

        Close the front door, plug in the unit and set the timer. It takes about 20 minutes per pound to cook a chicken in the George Foreman rotisserie.

        When the timer goes off, place a platter in front of your finished chicken and remove the spit. Make sure to wear oven mitts.

        Use the hook remover provided in your kit to remove the spit with the hot chicken.

        Remove your chicken and place it onto a platter for carving.

        Wash all parts of the rotisserie by hand. You can put the smaller parts in a dishwashing machine.

    • Wash your hands with hot water and soap after touching raw chicken.
