Instructions

    • 1

Apply the solution (nail polish remover, lighter fluid, mineral spirits or paint thinner). Dampen a soft cloth with your chosen solution. Lay the cloth down and let the glue soften for a few minutes.

    • 2

Remove the glue. Scrape off the softened glue with a plastic scraper. Do not use metal, because it could scratch the floor.

    • 3

Wipe off any remaining glue residue first with the solvent-dampened cloth and then with a dry soft cloth.

    • 4

For small dabs of glue, apply a few drops of nail polish remover. Let sit for a few seconds and wipe it up with soft cloth.

    • 5

Wash the floor with a vinegar and water solution, as recommended by your flooring manufacturer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Test your chosen solvent in an inconspicuous area of your laminate flooring before attempting to remove glue, in case the solvent damages the surface.
