This is one way to build a powered catapult on Fantastic Contraption

    Lets start with the level "Mind the Gap" where you must make the goal ball cross a gap to make it to the goal

    First, grab the goal ball by pressing and holding the left mouse button on it

    Move the goal ball up and out of the way

    Now that the goal ball is out of the way, select the clockwise powered wheel at the top

    Place the clockwise powered wheel toward the top right corner of the build area

    Place another clockwise powered wheel below and to the left of the first

    Select the wood rod from the top

    Start the wood rod in the center of the top right powered wheel and drag it to the center of the other wheel

    Let go of the wood rod when you are over the center of the lower left wheel

    Start another wood rod at the top of the top right wheel and drag it down toward the bottom left wheel

    Select the move tool from the top

    Move the goal ball close to the top right wheel and above the stick

    Hit the start button in the upper left hand corner and test your contraption, this one did not launch the ball forward, but straight up, it will need to be adjusted

    Using the move tool drag the center of the wheel down and forward, this will change the launch angle, you may also want to move the goal ball forward

    Hit the start button again

    as you can see the ball is traveling forward now

    It is headed straight for the goal

    Victory! You have just beat the level "Mind the Gap" using 4 pieces. It can be done in less pieces using no power at all. Play around with placing the sticks in different positions to get the ball across the gap.

    If you want to see what happened after you won, just hit the back button on the Victory screen

    That will show you how your contraption ended up and where the goal ball went after victory.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have lots of patience
  • Moving pieces a little bit can have a huge effect
  • Solve the levels first, then go back and optimise your contraption
  • This game is extremely addictive and could consume a lot of your time
  • Not advised to play at work, you won't get any work done that day
