A Topical Bible is a useful Bible study tool. It is useful when you are searching the Bible for a specific topic. There are many Topical Bibles and many websites that will list the Topics for you.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The Topical Bible is used when you are studying Bible Topics. Many preachers and teachers teach expository sermons or lessons. In this case you would study the Bible verse by verse from a certain book of the Bible. You would study whichever topic came up in these verses. To study topically, you choose a topic and find verses that pertain to that topic.

  2. Step 2

In a Topical Bible list and list of topics are found. Topical Bibles should be updated often since the topics people are interested in change with age. The Bible doesn't change so expository studies don't change like the Topical Bible does.

  3. Step 3
The Bible has answers for any question.
The Bible has answers for any question.

The Topical Bible is great to study topics and also the find a topic to study. You may open the book with an idea in mind, or if you are looking for a subject to teach on, many topics are listed. Under each topic will be the verses where that topic is found.

  4. Step 4

It's important to remember, when you are studying the Bible, that these terrific Bible study tools were written by people. The problem with a Topical Bible is that you are lead to where the writer wants you to go. A verse that one particular writer feels is speaking on a certain topic, may not be what another writer thinks that verse is about. Bible study tools don't take the place of prayer and thinking.

Tips & Warnings
