You may have a Concordance in the back of your Bible. It is quite useful for Bible study.

A Bible concordance is a study tool used by anyone looking to know their Bible better. The concordance list words that are used in the Bible and then the verses where that word can be found.

Things You'll Need:

  • A concordance in book form or computer software
  1. Step 1

Often times a concordance can be found in the back of your Bible ... by the maps. It is very helpful for looking up verses that you know are in there, but your not sure where it is found. Also, if you are looking for verses pertaining to a certain topic, it will list some of the verses that contain that topical word.

  2. Step 2

The concordance that is found in the back of your Bible is limited. You won't find every word nor will you find every verse where that word is found. It is very helpful when you are studying at church or somewhere away from a computer or exhausted concordance.

  3. Step 3

n Exhausted concordance is a very large book. It contains every single word that is used in the Bible and every single place where it can be found. You can look up big Bible words like “righteousness”, or little bitty words like “if” and it will be there.

  4. Step 4

Strong' s Exhausted Concordance is the most well known concordance, but now a days, there are Bible computer software programs galore. You can easily Google a Bible word or phrase and several sites will come up to tell you where to find the verse.

  5. Step 5

Make sure you are looking in the right translation for word you want. It is frustrating to be searching for a Bible verse that you Know... is in there, only to discover you memorized it in the King James and now you are looking for it in New American Standard or NIV concordance.
