Homemade Hawaiian pizza is very yummy and you don’t have to go all the way to Hawaii to get it. You can make your pizza on a pizza stone, metal pan, or cookie sheet. Make sure you can cut your pizza with the pan you choose. Many pre made crusts come with a tray you can bake your pizza on but you can only make stuffed crust pizza with a homemade crust. I prefer to use a boxed or bagged crust that you mix up. Hawaiian pizza is an unusual combination of fruit and meat that tastes great.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ingredients:
  • 2 boxes or bags of pizza crust mix
  • 2 pounds of shredded pizza cheese
  • Bottle of spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce
  • 1 pound of finely cut ham or Canadian bacon slices
  • 16 oz can of pineapple
  • 1 small onion (optional)
  • 1-pound Mozzarella String Cheese
  1. Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Step 2

Make Crust - Follow the directions on the bag or box of you pizza crust. Use 2 bags or boxes to make a thicker stuffed crust. Usually you add about 1/4 cup of warm water to each bag or box of flour mix and you let it sit for 5 minutes. Roll out your crust on a clean-floured surface.

  3. Step 3

Stuffed Crust - To make the stuffed crust roll our your crust the shape of your pan and make it about 2 inches wider in diameter. Line the string cheese around the border of the crust. Roll the crust around the string cheese so the string cheese is on the border of the pizza and completely covered by sauce.

  4. Step 4

Pre Bake Crust - Put the crust on your pan, cookie sheet or pizza stone and bake for 3-5 minutes until slightly brown. Baking it with no toppings for a short time ensures you won’t get a soggy crust.

  5. Step 5

Prepare Ingredients - Open up a can of pineapple, chop an onion, and prepare the ham.

  6. Step 6

Add Sauce - Spread a thin layer of sauce on the dough. Use your favorite spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce.

  7. Step 7

Add Toppings - Evenly place the ham, pineapple and onions on the sauce. Sprinkle pizza cheese (made with mozzarella and cheddar cheeses) on top of your ingredients.

  8. Step 8

Bake – Place in preheated 400 degree F oven for 10-15 minutes
