Recycle and re-use

Many people just finish reading a magazine and chuck them in the garbage can. I used to live in a big apartment, and I was astonished at all the magazines I'd see when I went to take out my garbage to the dumpster. If your neighborhood doesn't have recycling where you can put your magazines in, or you think it was really good and want others to read it, pass it on!

Things You'll Need:

Magazines can be passed on again and again....

Obviously giving your used magazines to friends and family is easy to do, and hopefully they will pass them on as well.

  2. Step 2

Take your used magazines to any places that have to wait- doctor's & dentist offices, laundromats, hair salons and barbershops, gyms, veterinarian's offices, coffee shops, some banks, car-mechanics, post offices, Workforce services, Day care centers and so on. Other places that don't have a lot of money but still can use the reading material are low-cost dental clinics and doctor's offices, welfare centers, food banks, and un-employment centers.

  3. Step 3

Sell them! Go to a bookstore or magazine shop and see if you can sell your old magazines. They will pay extra for collector-type magazines.

  4. Step 4

Take them to your local library- they'll either put them on the shelves, or they'll sell them to raise money for the library.

  5. Step 5

Also consider who might need to use magazines for arts and crafts projects: put an ad in Craig's list, take them to art-spaces/galleries where people do collagé-work. Also take them to day-care centers, group-homes for people with disabilities, colleges, treatment centers, and elementary schools for art projects.
