this instruction gives general information on how to make ear muffs for a calf. A new born calf can be sensitve to severe cold and frost so you want to keep those ears and head covered. Why not use what you have laying around anyway like some old winter hats.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 large winter hats (eg. beanies, ski hat)
  • needle and thread or seam adhesive
  • scissors
  1. Step 1

You will need two large winter hats(beanies). Winter hats are a good choice because they were already meant to do the job at hand. Keep in warmth and protect from the cold.

  2. Step 2

Take one hat and cut the top off so there is an opening at both ends

  3. Step 3

Cut one large opening on each side for the eyes. You may want to take a measurement on your calf so you get it close but you will be making them very oversized for comfort so it is not critical.

  4. Step 4

Take the second winter hat and cut it in half lengthwise. You will now have two pieces for the ears.

  5. Step 5

Stitch the cut edge of each piece leaving the opening at one end.

  6. Step 6

Make approximately a 3 in. cut on each side of the first hat just behind the eye holes for the ears to poke through.

  7. Step 7
