Make Healthy Dog Food

This is a dog food that is rich in vitamins and healthy. This recipe makes about 12 cups.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 pounds ground chicken
  • 8 cups oatmeal (cooked)
  • 1 cup of bread crumbs (unflavored)
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese (Mild)
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of bone meal (in garden centers)
  • 2 Crushed Pet Vitamins
  1. Step 1

Before starting, consider how much of this you would like to prepare. If you want to make more than double or triple the recipe. You can put some in the refrigerator or freeze as well. 2-3 weeks batch is a great idea if you have the room in the freezer. This recipe last 12 days for my two litle chihuahuas.

  2. Step 2

Place the chicken in a skillet and brown. Make sure that you separate it well. Remove the chicken from heat and place it in a large mixing bowl.

  3. Step 3

Stir the cooked oatmeal in to the chicken and add in a small amount of water just so it is not dry or crumbly.

  4. Step 4

Add in the breadcrumbs (using plain and not flavored)and the olive oil into mixture and blend well.

  5. Step 5

Add in the tablespoon of bone meal and mix well.

  6. Step 6

Then add in the cheddar cheese. Mix well.

  7. Step 7

Last stir in the crushed pet vitamin. Store in container or individual containers in the refrigerator. You can also store into baggies. For each 5 pound weight of your dog or puppy feed 1/2 cup daily.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can store in portion sizes to make it easy for feeding.
  • I heat my dog food up in the microwave for about 40 seconds just to take the chill off it.
  • Always check with your vet and make sure its ok to change food.
