Ever wanted to make some oatmeal, but maybe you forgot, or lost, the directions? Perhaps you are making fresh, home-made oatmeal, but have to cook the oatmeal through a microwave? Well, the following will guide you to making fast, delicious oatmeal via a microwave in no time!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Microwave
  • Microwave safe bowl
  • Any oatmeal (mix, fresh, old)
  • 2/3 cup of water (or milk)
  1. Step 1

Empty packet into microwave-safe bowl. This can include, but not limited to: certain ceramics and glass, plastic or tupperware. Do not use a bowl if you think there is any metal built within it (a good reason to have an adult supervision when a child is microwaving oatmeal).

  2. Step 2

Add up to 2/3 cup of water (or milk), and stir the mix. Use cooler temperature water and milk, if possible. Do not use cold or hot, as this will fluctuate cooking time.

  3. Step 3

Microwave the uncovered bowl on the 'high' setting of your microwave for one to two minutes, or until the oatmeal begins to thicken.

  4. Step 4

Stir the oatmeal once more to ensure that the thickness is to your liking and that the ingredients are mix thoroughly.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use less water to make thicken oatmeal, more water for thinner oatmeal.
  • Newer microwaves way need less cooking time than older microwaves.
  • Use lukewarm water, if possible.
  • If oatmeal is too hot, use an ice cube or a little milk to help cool it off!
  • Use fruit and fresh cinnamon at when the oatmeal is ready to eat!
  • Do not use very hot, or boiling water with microwave.
