How to Buy Green /Hybrid Cars and SUV's and Get a $3400 Tax Credit

Buying a green car can actually benefit consumers in their bank account. The government is now offering a $3400 tax credit to people who buy a hybrid vehicle that is fuel efficient and was put into service after December 31, 2005. This includes hybrids such as the Ford Escape Hybrid 4WD, and the Ford Fusion that are already on the road.

1. Go to the government website listed in Resources below in order to find hybrid vehicles that are currently eligible for a federal income tax credit of up to $3400.

2. Click on "Claiming the Credit" to view the steps you need to take in order to receive a tax credit for your green hybrid vehicle.

3. Click on "Other Tax Incentives" for more information on the tax credits available for purchasing green vehicles like the Ford Escape Hybrid, which does qualify for the credit.

4. The tax credit you receive will be based on the date of purchase and the specific hybrid/green vehicle that you purchase.

5. By buying a green car or SUV you can not only get a tax credit of up to $3400, but you can help save the environment from further decline.
