Nobody likes to get a speeding ticket. There are several ways that you can avoid getting a speeding ticket. Your job is to be a more responsible, diligent, and observant driver.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Keep an eye on the cars in front of you at all times and watch the brake lights of other cars who are traveling in front of you. They are your best indicators as to whether there is a radar detector or other threat ahead.

  2. Step 2

Keep your peripheral vision on the left and right sides of the road while you are driving on the highway at all times. Stay off your phone while driving and don't allow yourself to be distracted by the other passengers in your car.

  3. Step 3

Purchase a radar detector so that you can know when there is a radar in your area and avoid a speeding ticket.

  4. Step 4

Never travel over five to 10 miles over the speed limit whether you are in a city zone or on the highway.

  5. Step 5

Allow fast drivers to pass you. They are your best insurance (though you should never have too much confidence in them as a buffer from getting a speeding ticket).

Tips & Warnings
  • When speaking with an officer, be upfront and honest. Don't lie or try to deceive him or her.
