Things You'll Need:
- your clutter
- unused items
- friends
- yard
- garage (if you use for garage sale)
- your unwanted items
- price tags
-
Step 1
first you need to Decide what month your going to have the yard sale. Then you are going to need to go through every room in the house. Take notes to what's not being used any longer.
-
Step 2
Start boxing what you're going to sell. Make signs. Clean all items you're going to sell in your sale.
-
Step 3
The week before the sale, You're going to want to start your advertising. Advertise in the Sunday paper through the day of your sale. (basically a 6 day ad) Start pricing your items. Get out there and start posting those signs you made! If any friends or family members are coming over to host their own yard sale, split the advertising costs with them to save you all money!
-
Step 4
The night before start setting up outside, get your tables set up, start placing items on the tables. When you finish up be sure to tarp over top of the tables if they are in the yard.
-
Step 5
All the things that you have a lot of similar items of place all in a box or on a table with a sign saying your price for each.
-
Step 6
Get up early and be ready for early birds!! Some of the early birds can be your best customers. Allow people to haggle over the prices you have posted. Remember your goal here is to make it a successful yard sale, not to bring the things back in the home!
-
Step 7
Have fun, be sure to donate your unsold items to goodwill or Salvation Army. Once you are finished, enjoy your night! Count your money and pay a bill, or go on a mini vacation , or treat yourself to a day at the spa. Whatever it is you do I hope your sale is a success!
