For a wonderfully creative corsage, use silk flowers, ribbon, Pearl headed pins and...a dish cloth! Yes, you read right, a gathered Tulle dish scrubber cloth can be turned into a terrific wrist or strap corsage. Here's how:

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Silk Orchids
  • Pearl headed pins
  • Ribbons
  • Florist's tape
  • Florist's wire
  • Hot glue gun
  • Side cutter pliers
  • Scissors
  • Needle and thread
  • Paper plate
  • Colorful Tulle dishcloth
  1. Step 1

Flatten the dish cloth and locate the zip tie in the center, so you can free the fabric by snipping it. Cut the dish cloth in half just below center so the gathers are retained. Heat your glue gun on a paper plate.

  2. Step 2

Cut a wrist sized piece of florist's foam and press to round it down on the edges. Use waterproof florist's tape to secure a ribbon band long enough to tie around your wrist to the bottom of the foam. Wrap the foam block with ribbon and secure with glue.

  3. Step 3

Spread glue liberally on the bottom of the gathered dish cloth where you cut, and press it onto the top of the ribbon wrapped block. Pull down the bottom layers and fix them with a drop of glue so that they hide the top of the block.

  4. Step 4

Thread your needle with a very long length and knot the end. Make long running stitches along the bottom edge of the second half of the dish cloth fabric. Pull up the stitches to gather it into ruffles, sliding the bottom of the fabric along your thread and working the excess thread out, until it matches the circumference of the block. Cut off the excess thread 3 inches from the end of the ruffles and knot it several times to keep your ruffle intact. Glue the ruffle just under the edge of the first piece with hot glue.

  5. Step 5

Make a loop of florist's wire to anchor silk orchids, bows and filler to your corsage. Tie a few bows to the stems of your flowers, add a few sparkling accents and some corsage pins.
