Repair Concrete Cracks

Over time, you may notice small cracks in driveways, basements and sidewalks. Don't leave the unsightly cracks to grow and spread- fix them in a few easy steps and restore the original condition of the surface.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wire Brush
  • 10-oz. tube concrete patch
  • Caulking Gun
  • Wet Rag
  1. Step 1

Use your wire brush to remove any dirt or debris from the cracked area; make sure to sweep out the smaller particles with your vacuum cleaner or a broom.

  2. Step 2

"Load" your caulking gun with the tube of concrete patch by following the manufacturer's instructions. You can use either a latex, vinyl or epoxy patch for filling these small outdoor concrete cracks.

  3. Step 3

Follow the manufacturer's instructions and squeeze the patch into the crack using the caulking gun. If the crack is deep, you will want to fill it in layers; allowing it to dry and cure completely between applications.

  4. Step 4

Remove any ecess patch with a wet cloth and allow it to cure completely. If you want to paint or stain the area, allow a month to pass to ensure it has completely cured and settles.

Tips & Warnings
  • During the curing process, avoid driving over the area or stepping on it so that it cures properly and securely.
