One of the hottest trends in unique wedding reception ideas is the candy buffet. A candy bar buffet treat table is put together for the wedding reception and unveiled during the evening.

This can be set up for use as your wedding party favors and can be a real hit with your guests. Here are some ideas for a great candy bar or buffet.

Things You'll Need:

  • assorted candy
  • ideas for creative displays
  • take home wedding favor bags or boxes
  • containers to display the candy
  1. Step 1

Choose the candy you'd like to use for your candy bar / candy buffet. You can use retail candy or order specialty candy and chocolate. You can even order candy that's personalized with the date, the bride and grooms' name, and / or that matches your wedding's colours and themes.

Decide on a display. You can display your candy in various ways including in jars and buckets, by creating candy centerpieces, lollipop topiaries, and more. There are a lot of different ways to display your buffet and you can get very creative with creating a fun and pretty display that's visually appealing.

  3. Step 3

Decide how your guests will take their candy with them. You can have personalized boxes, take home sachet bags, or little dishes. You can even personalize trinket boxes, sachets, or bags with the date and the name of the newly married couple.

Choose how and when to introduce the candy buffet. You may decide to have someone take care of it and help people choose their candy (which can be helpful in ensuring you don't run out before every guest can have some!) or to set it up with a lineup where guests serve themselves.

Tips & Warnings
  • Consider having extra bags of candy aside to fill up the buffet. It might be more popular than you think!
  • Having someone help manage the buffet will ensure everyone gets to take some home
  • Save a bag for yourself as a memento!
  • Order candy well in advance, especially if you want personalised candy
  • Look online at photos of candy bars / buffets to get display ideas
  • Retro candy can be a great hit and spark conversation and excitement among your guests!
  • Be aware of nut allergies when ordering candy and consider your guests
