Things You'll Need:
- 30 minutes of time
- a small script
-
Step 1
These phone calls will not stop if you do not take the time to waste their time by providing them with information. Pretend like you are truly interested. Never ask to speak with a representative they will hang-up.
-
Step 2
First, come up with a script of false information (NEVER GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR REAL INFORMATION) listed: year, make , model of a car. They will ask for the mileage, i say about 150,000 miles. (There is no warranty that would cover a car with that much mileage)
-
Step 3
Second, make sure that you ask these specific questions. "What does this warranty cover?" Then ask them to repeat it so you can write it down. (do not write it down) If they do not mention it ask "Is my catilitic converter covered" say that you have been having issues with it.
-
Step 4
Lastly, say let's complete the transaction and then they will say they will transfer you to the payment department. When they get on they will start to give you payment options and ask them to repeat it. Then ask them to explain it again. Ask them if you can view the payments online, "They will say we do not have a website." Now you can say i do not even own that car, i know this is a scam if you want to keep calling i will waste your time and laugh at them and hang up.

on 5/20/2009 They are slick and every time they call it is from a diffrent number and when you try to call back it says it is not a working number. I followed the steps in my article and have not heard back since i did that. Good luck with them....

on 5/20/2009 These bastards are slick; They have a recorded message loop which gives you the option to opt out. It keeps you for 5 minutes then conveniently disconnects you with that awful "if You like to make a call..."
