Step 1
Its very important that you know this process doesn't completely work 100% of the time. I want everyone to know that avioding computer viruses is relatively easy once you know where not to go. First you have to know that computers are designed for you to get virus protection. Every program you purchase, every internet service you get, and every website you visit will all provide some version of virus protection. This is because it is a big business to protect something that people geuinely fear. Imagine all your personal information is on a computer and then someone can just take it. So the first step is to put fear aside.

Step 2
Stay away from porn sites. Even though it might seem like a good idea at the time try not to fall into temptation. Porn sites generally have a tendacy to be highly infectious. Especially if they are international sites. International websites are not governed by the same rules and regulations as the U.S.

Step 3
Stay away from unknown emails. If it says its free then it will end up costing you a lot. IMPORTANT "never answer to any emails you never requested". Never give your personal information such as credit cards, address, or phone numbers. IMPORTANT "never download anything you never requested to download".

Step 4
If you follow these simple steps you will most likely never get a virus. You should know that windows already comes with virus protection that usually runs in the background. Don't be afraid that you will get a computer virus just because you are doing your regular internet surfing.

on 3/16/2009 This is a sensible solution especially since virus software can also cause problems.
