Things You'll Need:
- This baseball teaching method requires a coach and a player, although another player may take the place of the coach in order to allow him to monitor the progress of his players, as well as to target
-
Step 1
The drill begins with both players standing face to face with each other approximately 8 to 10 feet apart.
-
Step 2
The player with the ball rolls the ball at a fairly rapid pace towards one side of the receiving player, who moves in a lateral position all the while bent slightly forward in order to catch the ball.
-
Step 3
The receiving player then throws the ball back to the throwing player and returns to the center position.
-
Step 4
The throwing player then rolls the ball quickly in the opposite direction.
-
Step 5
The receiving player repeatedly goes back and forth in a lateral motion depending on which way the ball goes, always making sure to return to the center position after throwing the ball back.
