Cure
-
1
Boil water in a teakettle.
-
2
Place two chamomile tea bags in a mug and pour the hot water over the tea mugs.
-
-
3
Let the tea bags sit in the water for two minutes so the tea leaves are fully soaked.
-
4
Remove the tea bags from the water and let cool.
-
5
Place a tea bag on each eye. The chamomile is soothing and will decrease the puffiness in your eyes.
Prevention
-
6
Drink at least eight glasses of water a day. While water retention is a cause of puffy eyes, too little water allows sodium to also cause puffy eyes. Balance is important.
-
7
Limit sodium and alcohol intake. Try using spices and herbs to flavor food instead of salt.
-
8
Try to get eight hours of sleep a night. Getting too little sleep can be a factor in puffy eyes.

Tips & Warnings
If you don't have time to brew and cool tea bags, use a bag of frozen corn or peas on your eyes for a couple minutes.
Stay away from moisturizing creams with a high water content if you have puffy eyes. The water can be retained under your eyes and add to the puffiness.
