    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • White vinegar.
    • Baking soda.
    • Water.
    • Bucket.
    • Scrub brush.
      • 1

Fill bucket with one half gallon of water.

      • 2

Add one half cup of vinegar. Distilled white vinegar is best.

      • 3

Add one quarter cup of baking soda.

      • 4

Mix together completely. This should form a paste that you can spread on your carpets.

      • 5

Get your scrub brush and dip it into the solution. Start at one corner of the room and work your way to the other corner, applying the solution with a scrub brush to the entire carpet. Use elbow grease on any stains.

      • 6

Allow the solution to dry on your carpets.

      • 7

Vacuum the carpets. They should now be nice and clean with no residue left over from the solution.

    Tips & Warnings

    • There are other combinations of natural cleaning solutions that you can use for carpet cleaning. Another popular one is a mixture of ammonia and baking soda (instead of using vinegar).

    • If you have a steam cleaner, you can use a natural solution of water and vinegar in the cleaner to clean your carpets.

    • In some rare cases, the material of your carpet could be damaged by this cleaner. Test a patch under some furniture first before doing the whole carpet.
