Nail fungus is a common fungal infection. It is estimated to affect around 13 percent of people in the United States. With percentages like that there is no need to feel embarrassed. Often times people with nail fungus feels shame to the point they do not seek help. Don't feel alone or helpless any longer! There is a nail fungus cure for you! You just need to find the nail fungus treatment that is right for you. The following information will help you determine the best way to rid yourself or your loved one of nail fungus.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Ask your physician. Your doctor will be your best friend when trying to eliminate nail fungus. He or she will be able to analyze what type you have and quickly prescribe the perfect nail fungus treatment. On another note if you believe you have found the right nail fungus cure on your own always ask your doctor before using.

  2. Step 2

After you have been prescribed a nail fungus treatment stick with it! Follow the directions you have been given completely. Don't skip or stop the process when you think it's getting better or the nail fungus may come back.

  3. Step 3

Keep your feet dry if the nail fungus is on your toes. Warm and moist is not a good combination when trying to battle nail fungus...it thrives in these conditions. Wearing pure white cotton socks will also help by absorbing moisture. White socks can also be bleached which should help prevent spreading. If your feet tend to sweat excessively change your socks often. Wear rubber gloves to prevent over exposure to water for hands.

  4. Step 4

Keep the nails cut short and file the thickened areas down. This will give the nail fungus less area to hide in. When you cut the nail make sure to trim straight across.

  5. Step 5

Wear shoes that will allow plenty of air flow. You should let the afflicted area receive as much air as possible. Look for the breather holes on the sides. Shoes made of plastic materials should be avoided because they do not allow air and moisture to escape. Ask your doctor if you should sprinkle a little antibacterial product into your shoes as well.

  6. Step 6

Make certain to avoid spreading or contracting more nail fungus! Don't go barefoot in public places and only go to reputable salons for manicures or pedicures. Skip the polish as well because polish can trap in moisture. Remember you can also spread from nail to nail!

  7. Step 7

Keep in mind once you have nail fungus and have started a nail fungus treatment it can take months for the nail fungus cure. Follow the directions given to you by your doctor and take the proper precautions as outlined above.

Tips & Warnings
  • Follow the directions given to you by your doctor!
