How to Clean Ceramic Tile and Grout

Are you tired of dirty tile and grout? If your answer is yes, read my article on how to clean your tile and grout. It is as easy as using the right cleaners and a little elbow grease. Painted Valley Grout services all major cities with in the Greater Phoenix Metro area.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Nylon bristle brush, alkaline cleaner, water,spray bottle, clean bucket, sponge.
  1. Step 1

    Mix your alkaline based cleaning solution to the specifications as given in the solutions instructions. Using a plastic spray bottle, spray a moderate amount of the cleaner on a 4- 9 square foot area. Let sit for 2-3 minutes.

  2. Step 2

    Using the nylon brush (appx 3x5) scrub the tiles in a circular motion and then in an up and down motion.

    Once you have sufficiently scrubbed your tile use a sponge and a bucket of fresh water to clean up the area of the tile that you have just cleaned. Remember to frequently change the water used for rinsing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Depending upon how dirty your floor is you may have to repeat this process.
  • PVG recommends sealing your grout after you have cleaned it. (make sure your grout is dry before applying your sealer)

on 3/18/2009 My husband and I are getting a little older and being on the knees for periods of time isn't as easy as it used to be. Not that we are 100 or anyting, but I think many would agree if they have tried cleaning and sealing grout on their own that it is no easy task. Shannon and Wayne of PVG came into our home and transformed our flooring. They cleaned each section, stained all the grout lines to match our tile, and left us with the instructions as to future maintenance. Not only were they personable, but passionate about their trade.
