Pregnancy or birth control pills are one of the most effective ways at birth control. However, it’s only super effective when we use it correctly. So, if you want to avoid unwanted pregnancies, it is important to take the birth control pills as told by your doctor.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The pill is taken daily and at the same time if possible. This is the most effective way to avoid unwanted pregnancies. Because the birth control pill work by regulating your hormone and stop ovulation, it is important to stick to a birth control pill routine.

  2. Step 2

To start the pill, take it the first day you start your period. It starts to work immediately. It is important to remember that you have to take one pill everyday until you finish the pack that the doctor prescribed for you. For each day that you missed a pill, the effectiveness of birth control will go down.

  3. Step 3

Talk to your doctor and tell him about other drugs that you are taking currently. Some drugs might interfere with the birth control pill thus making it less effective. Let your doctor evaluate if the birth control pill is right for you or not.

on 3/15/2009 Great article! I've always heard that it takes a few weeks after you start taking it for the pill to take effect though.
