How to Cut or Trim Your Bangs
Save money and cut your own bangs at home. Trim your hair in a brightly lit room and in front of a mirror so you can see what you're doing and can avoid making any mistakes such as cutting your bangs too short. Trim your bangs as often as needed until you reach the desired length. Take your time when cutting so you don't trim too much. If you cut too much hair at once, the hair will eventually grow back. Comb your dry hair straight down over your face. Don't wet your hair, as wet hair when combed straight is longer than dry hair.

Separate your bangs from the rest of your hair using a clip. This will prevent any accidental cutting.

Comb your bangs straight in front of your face. Place the hair between your pointer and middle finger. Run your fingers down your hair, until the edge of the hair is near the end of your fingertips. Pull tightly.

Place the shears in the opposite hand. Make small cuts to your hair from the center of your forehead out toward your eyebrows, trimming a little bit of hair at a time. Repeat until all the hair is trimmed. Do not cut straight across from left to right or right to left. Unless you use a ruler, you may end up with uneven bangs.

Prior to cutting, style your hair like you normally would. This will help you gauge how much hair you should trim from your bangs.
Never cut your hair with cuticle or safety scissors.
